Chair: Garry Innes Garry is a native Scot who has been an immigrant "down south" since 1993. He started supporting the Tykes from his first sight of them at the home game against Beziers in 2001. His claim to fame is that he went to the Boroughmuir School that Tom Palmer went to. He says he's played at every position except centre, with his favourite being No. 8. His most admired players are Jim Aitken (who he had the pleasure of meeting at Gala), but also enjoyed the skills of David Campese and Mike Gibson. Garry's ambitions for the LCSA are to help grow the fan base of the club, and to increase and expand the social side of the LCSA. |

Vice-Chair: Tim Fitzpatrick Another success chaser, Tim's introduction to the Tykes was their first game in the Premiership, which he admits to attending just because it brought Premiership rugby to somewhere close to home. He swears that he supported Leeds in the Henley Sevens in the nineties, in an effort to gain some credibility with the more established fans. Having not really played rugby since school and totally unfit, Tim was the perfect choice for captain of the Leeds Lardies Fat Blokes Sevens team. As well as helping Andy Brown to edit the Independent Tykes web site, Tim maintains this site, the Lardies web site, writes the LCSA newsletters and occasionally takes photos at the games. Why does he like rugby? "At six foot four and over 17 stones, what other sport was I going to play?" |
Treasurer: Gavin Hawdon Gavin has supported Leeds since they were formed, and before that was a follower of Headingley at Kirkstall. His playing career was somewhat nomadic, playing for West Park, Roundhegians, Moortown and Old Modernians before injury ruled him out of the game at the age of 27. Recklessly he started playing again recently for Otley vets. A happy accident of going to the right school (Lawnswood) got him interested in Rugby Union rather than League, where "fortunately for me, I ended up playing a game where brains as well as brawn were an asset". Controversial stuff! Gavin has high hopes for the LCSA, where he hopes for us to be able to plan bigger and better events for the membership and all Leeds fans, and to foster good relations with the club. One of the few native Yorkshiremen on the committee, and another member of the Flankers' Union, his hero happens to be... Peter Winterbottom! |
