Quiz Night
The LCSA are delighted to be able to announce that their long awaited Quiz Night will now take place in the Supporters’ Club on Wednesday 28th November at 8pm. The evening will include a buffet and we hope to have a number of Leeds Carnegie squad members along to join in.
The Quiz will be open to anyone who wants to enter, although we would like to limit team sizes to between 3 and 6 people. You don’t have to be an LCSA member to attend, and you can even pick up a membership form and join on the night.
This has always been one of our most popular events and this year our team of expert question setters have promised slightly less taxing questions than some of last year's!
So why not come along and test your brain power against your fellow Leeds Carnegie supporters, and let’s see whether the supporters can out score the players.
Leeds Carnegie Supporters' Association - A Statement from the Chairman
Well here it is: the 2007/8 season is now officially upon us and the first piece of business is to reintroduce your Supporters’ Association. We too have had a bit of a make-over during the summer, and it is with great pleasure that we can announce that we shall henceforth be known as the Leeds Carnegie Supporters’ Association (or LCSA for short).
Let’s start, though by giving you a brief history of how the association came about. The LCSA was formed in 2002 by a group of fans who first "met" on the internet site www.tykesrugby.co.uk. Our aim is to offer a social side to supporting and following Leeds Carnegie, and we do this by running all manner of events. We held our first event in June 2003, and since then the LCSA has gone from strength to strength, developing an excellent relationship with Leeds Rugby along the way.
Last season was perhaps our most successful yet, with the return of our version of a popular BBC sports quiz, which we called “A Question of Sorts”, the much talked about evenings with Stuart Lancaster, and not forgetting an evening learning the finer points of video analysis. These have all been great ways for fans and players to interact, and we owe a great deal of thanks to the players who come along to these events and make them so enjoyable.
The LCSA is also responsible for the Supporter’s Player of the Season award, which is presented annually and voted for by the supporters, with last season’s winner Kearnan Myall joining past winners Tom Biggs, Chris Bell, Phil Christophers and Cammie Mather.
We hope that this season will prove just as successful as last, and we have already started planning events, which will of course include another instalment of “A Question of Sorts”. We hope that many of you will be able to us for these events and look forward to seeing old and new friends. If you have any suggestions for events you would like to see the LCSA run, then please let us know. You can contact us via this website or speak to one of our committee. You can find most of us banging the drums during the games or look out for our table after the match.
Details of all LCSA events will be posted on this website where you can also purchase tickets, with LCSA members benefiting from advance discounts.
If you’re not already an LCSA member, then you can also join online by following the links to the membership page. It's going to be a great season!

LTSA Campaign
At the recent evening with Leeds Tykes event, Stuart Lancaster outlined his plans for next season and gave a full review of the season just gone.
At the same event, Gary Hetherington announced a season ticket initiative that is unlike any other club's. All the money from each season ticket sold will go into the pot for the purchase and retention of Tykes players. Further, every penny raised through that channel will be matched by Tykes' Chairman, Paul Caddick. The LTSA would like to support the Tykes wholeheartedly in this iniative.
As some of you may be aware, the amount of central funding available to the Tykes next season will be significantly lower than to other Premiership clubs. You can directly help to redress that balance.
Player of the Season
At an illustrious occasion on the 4th May, Keranan Myall was awarded the Colin Cramphorn Trophy for the Leeds Tykes Supporters' Player of the Season.
This year was the most hotly contested battle for the top accolade ever, with Keranan pipping both Jon Dunbar and Rhys Oakley for the top slot by only a few per cent of the vote.
Kearnan also won the players' Young Player of the Year award, with Jon Dunbar taking the players' Player of the Season trophy.
CHAMPIONS!
The LTSA would like to congratulate the coaches, team and backroom staff, but most of all you, our members, for the fantastic season we have enjoyed.
Who would have thought that we could accomplish so much in just eight short months with a new team and Director of Rugby? Whichever way you look at it, it is a tremendous achievement.
From the first stumbling game against London Welsh to the scenes at Otley when we learned that we were to be promoted, you have supported th team through thick and thin and we salute Stuart Lancaster and his coaches and the players for their gargantuan effrts this season. Long may it continue!
Remember, you can join the LTSA for only £5 by clicking the membership link on the left.
